Meet Dr. Wondra

Kirk S. Wondra, D.D.S.

Dr. Wondra is a 1994 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, one of the top rated dental school in the country according to U.S. News and World Report.  He is a highly motivated dentist who values the concerns and needs of his patients.

Dr. Wondra uses the latest advancements in technology to provide quality and esthetic dentistry. He frequently attends continuing education seminars to improve all aspects of his dental office.

Dr. Kirk S. Wondra attended the University of Arizona on a French horn scholarship where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He then obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1994 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

In 1999, he opened the practice without a single patient on record.  Dr. Wondra  has proudly seen thousands of patients over the past 30 years. Dr. Wondra has worked very hard over the years to deliver the best patient care possible. He has the most up-to-date technology in his office and attends continuing education on a regular basis to keep up with all the changes in the dental field. He has attended several classes on “Leadership in Dentistry” and received advanced CEREC and laser training. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the New Mexico Dental Association. Some of the latest technology he uses includes digital radiography, CEREC “one-visit restorations,” a soft tissue laser and an air abrasion unit.

Dr. Wondra believes in being thorough with all of his patients and insists on a comprehensive exam with his new patients. He strives to deliver the best patient care in a timely manner. He works very hard to make sure that there is little time spent in the waiting room and that the patient is as relaxed as possible in the dental chair.

Jo Ann Wondra

Office Manager

Jo Ann has been involved with the business since its inception in 1999. She graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s in Business Administration. She was in banking for 15 years prior to working at the office. Jo Ann and Dr. Wondra attended several Leadership in Dentistry conferences and she is an active member of the American Association of Dental Office Management. Jo Ann is actively involved in the day-to-day operations including office manager, front office administration and as a backup dental assistant. She takes a personal interest in each and every patient and is always looking to implement changes to deliver the best patient care, keep the schedule on time, and to minimize the amount of paperwork for both the patients and the office. ” It is our goal to make sure that every patient is completely informed of any needed treatment and any out of pocket costs associated with the treatment and to minimize the time in the waiting area”.

Jessica Aragon

Front Office Coordinator

Jessica has been in the dental field since 1999. She attended Santa Fe Community College where she studied computer graphics and advertising. Jessica has been employed by Wondra Dental Care, P.C. since 2003 and attended “Leadership in Dentistry” in 2004. She is a front office coordinator and works primarily with Dr. Wondra’s schedule. She works diligently to ensure that treatment plans are as accurate as possible and patients have a good understanding of their appointments and the fees that they will incur. She is a valuable asset of our organization.
 

Our Hygiene Team

Gina Moraga

Gina has been part of the Wondra Dental Care team as a Dental Hygienist since September of 2009. Her Career in Dentistry began in 1998 when she attained her certificate in Dental Assisting. Gina also spent several years as an office manager for a specialty practice which provided her with a breadth of knowledge in the Dental Industry. In 2009 Gina graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Upon Graduation, Gina was presented with the Irene Navarette award for her leadership and maintaining a 4.0 in her clinical studies. Gina’s dedication to her craft can be attested to by her friends and family who know she is always looking at their teeth. In her spare time, Gina enjoys going to the gym with her husband and spending quality time with her 3 children.

Erica Ridenour

Erica joined Wondra Dental in 2014. Prior to coming to work at our office, Erica received her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 2006. She graduated first in her class from Dental Hygiene school in 2010 from Amarillo College. Erica has lived and worked in the Rio Rancho area since 2010. Erica is committed to her patients and the high quality care that they deserve. Erica enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three children.

Alexis Molina

Alexis joined Wondra Dental Care in July of 2022. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Mexico with Summa Cum Laude honors in 2022. She was awarded the Sigma Phi Alpha award inducting her into the National Dental Hygiene Honor Society for being the top of her class for academics, finishing with a 4.2 gpa. Alexis is passionate about forming connections with each of her patients and helping them achieve their oral health goals. Alexis makes it her top priority to give patients a pleasant dental experience and receive the standard of care they deserve.

Alana Williamson

Alana joined Wondra Dental Care in early 2017. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Mexico in 2015. Alana was awarded the Dr. Vere Lane Scholarship and received the American Dental Hygienist Association award for best overall table clinic presentation. She has lived in New Mexico all of her life, and in her spare time, she enjoys camping and the great outdoors with her family.

Our Dental Assistants

Heather Navarrette

Heather has been a part of the Wondra Dental team since 2010. Heather received her certificate in Dental Assisting from Pima Medical Institute in 2010. Heather is a New Mexico native and enjoys camping and spending time with her three children.

Suzette Gallegos

Suzette has been a part of our team since 2019. Suzette became a registered dental assistant through the New Mexico School of Dental Assisting in 2019 and joined our team after completing her clinicals in our office. Suzette is a New Mexico native and graduated from RRHS in 2010. She is a mom of two and enjoys spending time with her family.

Technology at Wondra

At Wondra Dental Care, P.C. we strongly embrace technology.
Well-Equipped Rooms

All of our rooms are equipped with computers with large monitors to allow use to show patients our findings and concerns if there are any.

Digital Radiography

We use digital radiography which allows us to safely see the teeth and their underlying structures.

Digital Scanner

A digital scanner is used to allow us to take impressions using a special camera. This eliminates the need for the messy impression material that has to set in the mouth.

Primescan and Milling Unit

Our primescan and milling unit allows us to prepare and deliver one visit crowns and bridges, eliminating the need for an additional visit and placement of a temporary crown.
